Amalfi was a beautiful and legendary nymph, which inflamed Hercules ‘s heart.
When she died, Hercules wanted to bury her in the most attractive place on earth, among beautiful seas and colourful mountains.
On that Emerald coloured grave, Hercules built a city and gave it the name of his beloved Ninfa: Amalfi.
Beyond the legend, Amalfi is famous for being one of the four Maritime Republics, since the IX century vied for the control on the Mediterranean Sea.
Amalfi is a picturesque and lively town and every year is stormed by tourists all around the world, who come here to stroll through narrow streets filled with typical shops and then reach the famous square of the Cathedral of St. Andrew the Apostle, built around the year 1000 by the Duke Mansone II.
