Thanks to the mild climate and the beauty of the landscape, Positano has been a resort since the days of the 'Roman Empire, as evidenced by the discovery of a villa.
Typical are the many stairways that from the town centre step down to the beach. The main beaches are the Spiaggia Grande and the Fornillo, both within a few minutes’ walking; the others are La Porta, Arienzo and San Pietro Laureano, accessible mainly by boat.
Along this descent you can visit the famous boutiques, seat of the famous "Positano fashion sea", which our grandmothers were very fond of in the 50's.
Handmade sandals, sarongs and bags, laces, one for every taste, thanks to a process that began after the Second World War, when some local tailors aroused an everlasting success that has never faded since then, devoting themselves mainly to the creation of crocheted bikini.
